This is a demonstration site. Sonora is not a real restaurant. The menu, the prices, the address and the phone number on this site are all invented, and no real orders are taken here. No order texts are going out yet either: the number is still being registered with the carriers. This page is a working example of what a restaurant using this ordering system would publish about its order texts.

What we send
We text you about your own order. There is a message when the kitchen has it, and a message when it is ready to collect or on its way to you, so you will get up to three texts for an order. We do not send offers, coupons or any other marketing by text.

How you ask for them
There is one place on this site to ask for texts, and it is the checkout page. Below the phone field there is a checkbox. It is empty when you get there, and you will only get texts if you tick it yourself. It reads:
Text me updates about this order. One to three texts per order. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. See our privacy policy.

Nothing else signs you up. There is no keyword to text in, no form anywhere else on the site, and no list we add your number to when you order without ticking the box.
Once you have placed an order with the box ticked, the first message you get is this one:
Sonora: You are opted in to order updates. Up to 3 texts per order. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.
Stopping the texts
Reply STOP to any message from us and the texts stop. Reply HELP and you will get a message back with our phone number on it. You can also give us a call at (530) 555-0142 and we will take your number off. Leaving the box unticked, or replying STOP later, makes no difference to your order, and your receipt still comes by email.
Your number
We do not share mobile numbers with third parties for their marketing. The number you give at checkout goes to Twilio, who send the messages for us, and it is used for nothing but texts about your own order. Our privacy policy covers everything else the site collects, and our terms of service cover the rest of ordering.
